working in various group settings on Commoning, redistribution of resources, social justice. We can talk about it in private :)
We are mourning the sudden death of Silke Helfrich. Beyond the personal, this is a big loss for the knowledge production and network building on Commoning and the Commons.

out in June 17th 2021:
Birgit Bosold, Vera Hofmann: Year of the Women* / Jahr der Frau_en, Schwules Museum 2018, kuratieren #7, ed. Ulrike Boskamp, 2021The concept of these booklets can be described as texts from the praxis. They deal with curatorial opportunities that often arise in small institutions, non-representative, rather questing. Each booklet reflects work done at a specific place in a specific period of time.
Birgit Bosold and Vera Hofmann do exactly this: They reflect on their curatorial work at Schwules Museum in Berlin in 2018, which was proclaimed the Year of the Women* and turned out to be quite controversial. The result is a courageous booklet that, on the one hand, deals with the curatorial work behind the scenes and the handling of hostility, and on the other hand takes a look at the different positions and approaches of the two curators, where conflicts become visible and thus reflectable.
The booklet is available for free download here. Printed copies are available from us and at Schwules Museum (SMU) in Berlin for 5 Euro.
I got selected for the 2 months long Ankara Queer Art Residency Program in 2020/2021. It did not happen yet. More updates may follow.
working on publications on Year of the Women* and Curatorial Activism & Care Curating
Since 2019 the Commons Institute, namely Silke Helfrich, Johannes Euler and myself, are consulting the Gesellschaft Neue Auftraggeber, Society of New Patrons, a Berlin based, Europeanwide cultural institution, on Commons and Commoning.
Since the beginning of 2020 I'm doing a three year course of study on biography work with a group of 35 teachers, doctors, healers, social workers, philosophers, etc. Update: I quit the course by the end of 2021
My poster "Und, wie ist so im Schwulen Museum zu arbeiten?" for Philipp Gufler's "I wanna give you devotion" is currently on display at Haus der Kunst, Munich in the exhibition "Sweat"
By the end of 2020 I will leave the Schwules Museum. For four years, two terms of office, I was part of the managing board of directors and part of the programming committee. I do not wish to run for a third term. I am still in contact with the museum and working on a follow-up project. I wish my colleagues all the best and thank all supporters of my activist and curatorial work.

I've got re-elected as member of the Board of Directors at Schwules Museum for another two years.
This is a volunteer position and the 8 members of the board work as the executive directors of the institution, mainly responsible for the strategic planning, the programming of exhibitions and events, finance, communication and human resources. The SMU is the world's largest museum and archive for LGBTIQA+ art, history and culture and has around 80 staff members.
